"Transforming Humanity Through Artistry"

Adventures in the Arts is a registered non-profit organization that provides interactive edutainment experiences for all generations.  It uses performing arts, visual arts, multimedia arts and culinary arts to share stories about human existence. We aim to provide the premier live and multimedia edutainment experiences locally and globally through exposing multigenerational audiences to the vastness and interconnectedness of the artistic world.

Our Story

This concept was founded and developed by Dion Cunningham in 2016 while he was still completing his graduate studies.  Originally called Adventures in Western Art Music, it was seen as a unique way to introduce classical music to the next generation of musicians and audiences from his country - the Bahamas.  Thus he imagined Adventures in Western Art Music as a field trip experience for children and youth only to truly create the first young people’s concert series locally.

The initial concerts were a success and over 300 kids from 15 schools attended.  This was enough to encourage Dion to continue this work annually as an edutainment (education + entertainment) outreach.  It was the first event of its kind in the Bahamas with this focus and remains so to this day.

This work has now expanded beyond music to include other performing, visual, multimedia and, for the first time in its history, culinary art forms supplemented with multidisciplinary original films, kaleidoscopic lighting, sound effects and costumes. Hence the slight change in name to what is now known as Adventures in the Arts.  This work now collaborates with some of the finest talent locally and internationally.  This talent spans beyond the stage to include professionals in writing, narration, film, lighting, live and recorded audio production.

In 2024, Adventures in the Arts celebrated 9 years of edutainment in our community. Since our inception, we have touched over 3000 children and youth in North America with our transformative work.  It is the vision of the Adventures in the Arts team to see its work become part of the global artistic and educational landscape.
